Living a life of a Christian is something God desires for all.  This privilege is something we as Christians should cherish.  Christ died for us and through this act of mercy we have the opportunity to accept Him as our personal Savior.  In 2 Corinthians 5: 14-15 it says, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, therefore all died.  And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.”  Thinking back when I attended my home church where my parents took me I remember an older man.  His name was Mr. Gullett my Sunday School teacher.  This gentleman always taught us that God loves us and how we should honor Him by sharing this love with others.  I can still see him leading us in Royal Ambassadors encouraging us to memorize Bible verses.  This man was not there when I was saved many years later in 1982 but had shared God’s word with me over twenty years earlier. Some of the things he instilled in me helped lead me to accept Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I am so thankful that God put people in my life that cared enough to see that God’s love was shared with me.  You never know what just a small word of kindness can mean to the life of another.  God was patient with me as I lived for myself instead of Him before my doubtful mind would succumb to accepting God’s mercy with faith.  I thank God for those who love Him so much that they willingly sacrifice of themselves in order to honor Him. It also means so much for me to remember how a gentleman a long time ago cared enough to spend time with a little boy and tell me the story of how Christ died for me.  It goes without saying that now it is my responsibility as a Christian to live for Him.
