Pleasant Hill Church is proud to announce the Fourth Annual Community-wide Women’s L.A.U.G.H. conference. August 10, 2024 from 9am-3pm.
This is a free event to all women inside and outside our community. Lunch will be provided for every registered attendee.
Ladies of all ages, all walks of life, and all denominations are welcome.
Our guest speaker
Emily Moore
Emily Moore lives in North Alabama where she was born and raised. For the past 23 years, she has been married to her husband, Ryan Moore, and they have two sons: Eli, who is in college, and Carter, who is starting high school.
Emily works as a Nurse Practitioner in the field of Neurology; however, she has also been traveling as an evangelist for the last three years. When not on the road, she is teaching and leading a Bible study titled “God’s Love Letter” that focuses on studying and applying God’s Scripture.
In addition, she hosts a monthly women’s fellowship called “His Strength, My Story,” where women are invited to publicly declare what God has done for them within an interview setting. An avid reader and traveler, Emily is passionate about sharing how we can know God at a more intimate level and how such a relationship changes our vision for and within life.

We will be donating funds to assist Shoals CASA in increasing awareness of child abuse and neglect in the shoals area as well as the importance of having trained volunteers to act as advocates for the best interests of children in the juvenile family court system.
CASA’s Mission
Shoals CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is committed to promoting awareness of child abuse and neglect within the Shoals area. We work diligently to provide trained volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children within the judicial system.
CASA programs assist the juvenile/family court in carrying out its role in the child protective services system. CASA volunteers are an investigative tool for juvenile dependency court cases. Often being the “eyes and ears of the court”.
CASA is the only volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens as officers of the court. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. Each volunteer cares for 1-2 cases at a time to ensure that each child is receiving the attention they deserve.

Marie Lewey, and
Meredith Wallace
Cindy Walker, Marie Lewey, and Meredith Wallace have served in music ministry in the Shoals and beyond for most of their lives.
Cindy and Marie were on a worship team together for many years which included their friend Lenny Leblanc. They also travelled with Lenny as a part of his band. For more than 40 years, they have worked as background vocalists in the Shoals (and Nashville) studios and are known as “The Shoals Sisters”.
Cindy has sung on recordings for Christian artists including Lenny Leblanc, Lindell Coo-ley, Kelly Willard, and Twila Paris. Cindy released a solo Christian album, Crusader, for Heartland Records in 1984 that had several original songs including Safe In The Harbor, Roll Away The Stone, and Save Me.
Marie has recorded with several Christian artists including Amy Grant, Lenny Leblanc, and Travis Cottrell in addition to her many years on the praise and worship team at her church.
Meredith has led worship for youth events in several states and has served in missions. She has also served on the praise and worship team at her church for more than 20 years.
A couple of years ago, a friend introduced Meredith to Marie and Cindy, who were de-lighted to discover her. They invited her to join them in a weekly outreach ministry known as “The Gathering” (Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm) at “Singin’ River LIVE” in downtown Florence. There, they sing a wide variety of songs and genres that bring a sacred message or a life lesson to a variety of people on their journey of faith.
