I have asked our church body to share stories about times when they witnessed a miracle or a time when God worked in their lives and they KNEW it was God when they looked back on it.

I think we have a tendency to be surprised by Gods power at work in our lives.  We say we believe God is the same God yesterday, today and forever Hebrews 13:8…… with the same power He used to part the sea (Exodus 13:17-14:29), walk on water (Matt. 14: 22-33), heal (Matt. 14:14) , feed large groups of people with the amount of food one person would eat for lunch (John 6: 5-13), and then we go about addressing our problems ourselves.  We add prayer to the list of things we do when we are facing a storm in our lives, however do we fully expect God to work in the situation.  Are we working on a plan B just in case God does not answer? Is it possible we get so focused on the answer we think God should give that we miss many miracles?

The goal of this years lent devotional is to spend some time building your belief that God IS powerful, capable and DOES answer every one of our prayers.  His answer is not always immediate, loud or what we expected.  But as Gods word says….His ways are above our ways and His thoughts above our thoughts (Isiah 55:8-9).

Today, if you have asked Jesus into your heart,  think about the miracle of Salvation God has accomplished in you.  If you have raised children you know the will is a hard thing to capture.  When you said YES to Jesus you gave Him back your will.   In that moment an understanding happened, a decision was made, a will was changed, and a new life was started……that is a miracle!

God Bless
