Lent 2018

Lent is the 40 days before Easter, not including Sundays. It is a time set a part to give consideration to the 40 days Jesus spent fasting and being tested by satan in the desert before He began his ministry. Even Jesus set Himself apart for a time on several occasions to call on and be strengthen by God as an example to us that in our busy lives. We need focused time with God to live in this lost and broken world.

It is remarkable how God works.  His presence in everything I do keeps me in awe of His strength and power.  However, I sometimes take things for granted.  The miracles He performs in my life I sometimes tend to overlook. I have experienced a sunset in its awesome beauty.  I have seen majestic mountains. I have had the opportunity and gift from God to be a part of a family that gives me so much joy.  He has made available for me to be a part of a Church Family that has meant so much to me and my family.  I could go on and on.  Every day I live and seek God He reveals His awesome power and how He wants me to follow His direction.    He also reveals to me how following Him, keeps me focused learning more about Him.  Sometimes as I travel the way He leads, because of my brokenness I get side-tracked.  When this occurs and the light comes on I realize He still is waiting for me to come back to the path He has for me.  My path is different than yours and vice versa.  The joy and love He has for me is something He wants me to share with others.  It is because of Him my love for others grow. This is not always easy because I can sometimes be more concerned about me than others.  But when I keep my eyes focused upon Him my desires become less important and those scales tend to fall off just like when God removed them from Paul’s eyes.  The miracle Paul experienced is just like God removing the desire of what I want so that I can look upon others with God’s love.  When my wish to seek Him grows He is always there with open and loving arms.  Each day He gives me the opportunity to see the miracles He performs. It is the touch of His hand, something only God can do that makes me want to praise Him more each day of my life.
