Lent 2018

Lent is the 40 days before Easter, not including Sundays. It is a time set a part to give consideration to the 40 days Jesus spent fasting and being tested by satan in the desert before He began his ministry. Even Jesus set Himself apart for a time on several occasions to call on and be strengthen by God as an example to us that in our busy lives. We need focused time with God to live in this lost and broken world.

“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassion fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

                                                                   Lam. 3:21 – 23

God has always been faithful with me and my family! It seems that at some time or another, Dennis and I have faced some really hard times in our children’s lives.

Our son, Ashley, was born with both of his feet clubbed and we wondered if he would ever be able to walk. God was faithful to send the surgeons that was needed to correct this and Ashley hit the floor, not walking, but RUNNING!

Our daughter, Heather, has had problems with her throat since the age of 21 months and has had over 150 surgeries for this. God has been faithful to send wonderful doctors to help her, and she is now raising her own little family with her godly husband, Matthew.

Our son, Richard, has had a problem with kidney disease, but God in His faithfulness, has sent the right doctors into Richard’s life and he is doing really well!

After Christmas, 2016, our older daughter, Gina and her husband, Chris, were badly injured when the straps of their tree stand broke and they fell about 15 feet to the ground. God has been faithful, once again, and  Gina and Chris have returned to work and are doing GREAT!

We have so very much to be thankful for and we give God all the glory for his steadfast love, mercy and grace.

To GOD be the glory.  Amen
