Lent 2018

Lent is the 40 days before Easter, not including Sundays. It is a time set a part to give consideration to the 40 days Jesus spent fasting and being tested by satan in the desert before He began his ministry. Even Jesus set Himself apart for a time on several occasions to call on and be strengthen by God as an example to us that in our busy lives. We need focused time with God to live in this lost and broken world.

What Miracle has God done in my life.

God has given me children, two beautiful, healthy, strong children that love Him. Both are very different, that are on different paths in their lives. Tim and I have always kept them in church, tried to teach them good moral values of life, I pray as a mother that God will keep them close to Him, and on His path. My son was three years old when his dad and I divorced, it was very hard on him. It was just my son and I for a while, then God put Tim in our lives.  Over the years, we would struggle with our son, his uncaringness for school, distancing himself from us, and the overwhelming disrespect for us. My heart was crying out for help, and was broken. As I watched my son grow from a young child, to a teenager, I realized I couldn’t fix his heart, only God could. We were attending church at Wesley Chapel, Pleasant Hill then he decided to attend Central Baptist Church, and got involved in the youth. Made new friends, he graduated from high school this past year, and is now is the United States Navy. We have watched our son grow from a young child that loved to run around and play solider, to a responsible man.  I, like many mothers have spent sleepless nights worrying about our son, but I gave him over to God a long time ago. It is through God that our children, that Peyton has grown, and accomplished his main goal in life.   I am so very proud of both of our children and the many blessings that God has given us through them.  Proverbs 22:6- Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
